I am an undergraduate student in the Literature & Writing program at the University of California, San Diego, and a shuttle driver for UCSD Transportation.  My hometown is Modesto, CA.  I currently live in San Diego with my boyfriend Walter, and our kitten, Roxy.

My go-to authors are Isabel Allende and Paulo Coelho, and my favorite novel by each is The House of the Spirits and The Alchemist, respectively.  I love these books for their elements of magical realism. Additionally, I admire the strength of their messages, which were able to impact my perspective on topics ranging from the definition of happiness to the ideals of different religions.  The best books, in my opinion, are the ones that are able to change the way you think about something.  Allende and Coelho never disappoint!

 

My favorite genres to write in are fiction and poetry, and my latest project is a collection of poetry entitled Blank Pages.  In this collection, I reflect on my negative experiences with the dating app, Tinder.  I draw inspiration from Rupi Kaur's Milk and Honey, in which she tracks her own journey from trauma to recovery.  Like Kaur's, my poems are written in different affective forms to allow physical appearance, not just words, to communicate my reflections.  If you would like to hear more about Blank Pages or any of my other writing, shoot me a message here!

 

Other interests and hobbies of mine include: watching crime TV shows, scrap-booking, going to the beach, boogie boarding, listening to rap music, teaching my kitten how to do tricks, practicing calligraphy, playing the piano, going to the gym, and spending time with friends and family.
